Automation of Trademark Registration Project

In Cambodia, Trademarks are protected by the Law on Concerning Trademark, Trade Names and Acts of Unfair Competition, a part of Intellectual Property, which was first adopted by the National Assembly in 2002. Trademark registration provides the great advantage for private sector development, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to expand their potential business in order to boost the economic growth.

Seeing this necessary, the Ministry of Commerce with funding support from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) through the Trade Development Support Program (TDSP), has supported the Department of Intellectual Property (IP), which was selected as the secretariat of National Committee for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), to implement “Automation of Trademark Registration project” in order to promote business environment and trade facilitation in Cambodia.

Let’s enjoy watching a short documentary video on the establishment process of Automation of Trademarks Registration System, which brings significant benefits for the traders, the public and Cambodia as a whole.
