Phnom Penh’s new Techo International Airport more than 44% complete

Nou Peng Chandara, Deputy Governor of Kandal Province, has stated that Techo International Airport, located in Kandal province is now more than 44% complete.

On the morning of March 30, 2023, the Deputy Governor spoke at a news conference hosted by the Royal Government Spokesperson’s Unit on “Five Years of Success of Kandal Provincial Administration.”

The Deputy Governor stressed that the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, as well as the Kandal Province Administration, are in charge of leading efforts to settle any concerns relating to land claims that have an impact on people.

The Techo International Airport, the current name of the Phnom Penh International Airport, is anticipated to open in 2024.

The $1.5 billion project is being built on a 2,600 hectare site in southern Kandal and Takeo provinces by the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. with funding from the Cambodia Airport Investment Co., Ltd (CAIC).
